1/20/06, Meggan and I just wanted to drop you a note to check in and give you a Bucket update. Meggan was acutally stopped by a professional photographer while walking with Bucket at 4 months....we wound up having a free photo shoot, and the picture we used on the card was just one of the bunch. Unfortunately we don't have them as digital files, but when we scan them - we'll send a few along to you. Bucket is getting to be a big healthy boy - weighing in at about 74 pounds, He's a great size - and has such big feet, we're thinking he might even get a little bit bigger. He is going through a little chewing phase - but sticks mostly to his toys, and the occasional sock...his temperament is amazing - he is calm and gentle. Docile with little children and stops on the street for passers by to say hello. He has a ton of neighborhood buddies - including a 160lb mastiff named Porterhouse. Bucket can hold his own - but at the end of the day - he's just a gentle boy. We would love to bring a new pup into the family when Bucket is a bit older - and we would just love to have another Black Rock Lab. I was going to send you an email telling you how happy Hana is, and how much
we love her, but then I took these pictures last weekend, and I thought they
said it even better. Look at the look on her face as she gets a kiss from
our daughter! Bliss! She's doing great. I think you would be surprised how
much her personality has blossomed. At first she really didn't "get" stuffed
toys. Now, our house it so littered with them it looks like we have a toddler!
She's almost playing tug of war and of course she's still a fetching maniac.
We couldn't get into First Friends for obedience school, so we are attending
Fetch Academy. (it's not as regimented, and seems better for Hana's gentle
nature). Even though I'm totally saying so myself, she IS the class
valedictorian. She's so anxious to please (and very smart) so we've found
her super easy to train. Thanks again for such a wonderful dog!
