April 07 Bravo X Glory

Attached is an updated picture of a pup (now named Sam) that we got from Sylvan Meadows Labradors in July 2007. He has turned into a beautiful dog. Sam weighs in at just over 95 pounds. My daughter is now 6 (7 in July) and we got the pup for her fifth birthday. They are best friends and Sam is very gentle with her and her cousins and friends that come over. He’s the perfect pet!  Dave Brown

Bailey (BeBe X Bravo) April 2008

12/30/08, Bravo son out of Wilma and Bravo, Wrigley had a lot of fun with a house full of people. I think his favorite is my dad's bird, Kiwi which was riding on his back by the end of the week. Happy New Year! Stacy

11/27/08  Hi Dale: We have one of Bravo's daughters from his April '08 litter with Sydney Savannah (Mike Stephen's female). Our Goldie is a fantastic dog - she is really beautiful and has the sweetest, mellowest temperment you can imagine. We just love her to death!   Helen Milgrom

7/22/07  Hi Dale, Just want to tell you about my lovely Bravo son, Maverick. He is from Timberlane Kennels, and is absolutely the love of my life. I am a professional dog trainer (clicker and Operant Conditioning). He has learned sooooo fast! At six months he is marvelous to look at and wonderful to be around. Maverick, who is named after a great cadaver search dog who worked the Pentagon at 9/11, lives here in the Lousiville area on 37 acres with a white German shepherd bitch and a Boston terrier bitch. The think he's wonderful too. I have had many labs over the years, but this boy takes the cake. One of the main reasons that I purchased him is the wonderful record that Bravo has for not only beauty, but brains and heart. If I am ever looking for another or would recommend a source for labs, it would be Blackrock. Earlier this year you were kind enough to answer my email search even though you had nothing available at the time. I had already found the litter at Timberlane through you links and was arranging to drive down to pick him up. Thanks for great quality control and customer service. Would love to visit some time, hopefully when you have nothing available(grin). Sharon Abbott.

7/15/07 Just thought we would send you a snap shot of Madison and Rocket (Bravo X Belize)  She entered him in 4H and took first place in the level 1 obedience. This was her first year and she's ready for next year! Thanks for letting us adopt Rocket. The kids really have fun with him.

102_0232 My wife and I recently purchased a puppy from Roger Dieckmeyer of Barke's Labradors, from the Moon/Bravo litter whelped back on April 15th. I wrote Roger providing an update on our puppy, Champ (12 weeks), and thought I would pass along to you as well. Champ has been such a great puppy and a joy in our lives and we can't thank you and Roger enough for having such wonderful dogs that produce such striking puppies. We think Champ looks a great deal like Bravo, much like his other pups, and probably shares a great deal of his personality. I provided a photo to you could see his development. We look forward to our years ahead with Champ and continuing to follow Bravo and the other beautiful Black Rock Labradors.Best Wishes,Chad Easton, chad_easton@comcast.net.

Our baby Zane is phenomenal and he just graduated from Beginners Puppy Class- They said he was so smart that he got to skip Puppy Preschool!!! We just love him to pieces!!!Zane05

Chester is doing very well. We couldn't be happier. He has completed Puppy Kindergarten class and will be graduating from Puppy class this coming Monday at Specks Pet Supply in Avon, IN. He has been a great student. He keeps his eyes focused on you and is usually eager to please.

He is also doing well at home with our 14 year old lab, Magnum. Magnum has more spirit in her than we've seen in a long time. We are still struggling with the command "off" though. Chester the Pester likes everything and anything on the kitchen table and countertops. We took Chester camping a couple of weekends ago. He loved the creek and seemed worn out each night by 7 PM, which was a welcome treat for Dick and I. We forgot what it was like to have an active puppy in the house! Everyone just loves him. We can't go for a walk around the neighborhood without being stopped. Everyone wants to pet the pretty puppy. But he is looking more and more like a grown dog every day. We're so proud. Thank you all.

Riley_Xmas (son of Bravo and Rosey) and I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! The attached picture was taken by Becky at Specks. Riley was in her advanced training class. My goal is to get Riley certified as a therapy dog and eventually use him in my first grade classroom. Becky and Susan Burton (Sho-N-Tail Labradors) believe he has potential to be a show/stud dog. Hugs,Riley and Susan

Just wanted to let you know that we picked up one of the boys (yellow) from this litter on December 4th. (8 weeks old). We named him "Samson" and we absolutely love him. At 10 weeks old, he is already potty trained and crate trained and ready to start puppy classes at First Friend in Fishers, Indiana. This puppy is very observant, smart and lovable. I bet this boy will grow up to be like his daddy Bravo. We are so excited to have him. I was so impressed with the quality and health of Samson and his litter mates. John and Gaye do a tremendous job with their puppies. When we are finished training Samson, he will be used in our disability ministry at our church and will be amongst many handicapped people. He will be perfect. Thank you Bravo!!

7/16/04 Since I am so proud of my new little girl pict35 Bravo X Rosey (Sylvan Meadows Naughty But Nice), I have to share with all of you what she did today. As most of you know, I have a wonderful new puppy. She is the joy of my life. We just returned home from her second "field Training" session with the Hoosier Hunting Retriever Club. She is awesome! Today was her first water retrieve. Up to now, she would not swim. She loved the water but wanted her little feet to be touching the ground at all times. But today, she became a water retriever. Once she made the big "hop" and it was a hop into the water, she was off and running. She must have done 10 short retrieves, bringing it back every time. So I started throwing it further out in the water and distance was not a problem. This little girl loves to "work" because to her it is all a game. We are having so much fun together. I had forgotten how much fun a puppy can be!! Judy

Dale ~It's been awhile and the dogs are 3 1/2 years now (Belize x Bravo 2003) so I thought I would give you an update on how Sadie is doing. I hope all is well with everyone at Black Rock. I can't believe 3 years have passed already. From a conformation standpoint Sadie topped out at about 52 lbs. (in good condition), has a nice coat and if I measure straight up her front leg to the top of her neck/back she's at about 21 inches. She's not a large dog but as we discussed, she is athletic and like Bravo seems to have endless energy when she's retrieving something. She's a great dog in the house now and pretty much has the run of the place. She loves people and always wants to be where you are. I laid the foundation (obedience, force fetch, collar conditioning, yard work) before that though and have managed to do some training here on my own (steadiness, marking, currently starting on blind retrieves) and she gets exercised everyday. There are a couple clubs in the area and I've started training again and I think Sadie has enough natural talent that the transition shouldn't be too hard so if that all goes well I'm going to run some Junior hunt tests in April and get back into the game. I'll keep you posted on how the hunt tests go. \

Princess  Bella Lusa X Bravo Bravo Boys- The boys at 7 weeks old

Hi there - We have not corresponded with you since July 03 when you referred us to the Neureuthers. We wanted a blonde lab puppy and got one of the males from Princess Bella Lusa and Bravo's litter. Thought we'd send you a  photo of Baxter Baxster03 who is almost six months now. He's about fifty-five pounds already and he's loaded with energy. He's learned all of the obedience commands and loves to swim and play with other dogs. He has two older siblings "Bohdi" (chocolate male) and "Shelby" (11 yr. black female) and he keeps them very busy. Thanks for such a beautiful puppy.

7/31/04  Just wanted to say hello and thanks again for a wonderful puppy. "Baxter" is now one year old and such a pleasure to watch. Here are a couple of pictures at about eight months. He's now about 85 pounds and is coming along nicely with his obedience training. He is beginning to accompany me on my morning jogs and loves looking at the sights along the way...he loves the water and jumps in every fountain he sees along Ft. Lauderdale beach. The photo below is him enjoying the fire at our home in North Carolina. He loves the mountains as much as the beach! Thanks again and hope all is well at Black Rock farms... Jimmy, Julie & Baxter Vogel (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida)

8/18/05, Hi Dale, This is Katie Bennett from Tennessee. Bebe and Bravo litter March 2005. She has a great personality and is very intelligent! She has learned anything I have tried to teach her and catches on very quickly. A trainer that I work with is very impressed with her ability to learn things. She is beautiful too. Thanks so much for all the help you gave me in picking her out!  Katie Bennett

Bravo X Hennings Mill Mistress at Sylvan "Rosey" Greetings from Kevin & Theresa Stephenson.Just an update on one of Bravo's daughters. Pearl is coming off of her first hunting season. Pearl took to doves and pigeons in the fall very quickly. We hunted at least 3 times per week. Most of the doves came right off of our own 10 acres east of Whiteland. We are lucky enough to have a farmer friend that wants the pigeons on his property taken out.....we are always happy to oblige.Pearl successfully retrieved approximately 35 - 45 ducks in the winter. Two hunts of particular note were a day at 8 months of age where Pearl retrieved 11 ducks in a 3 hours time period. One of those retrieves was her first successful swim / retrieve in 4 foot of water. Another day at 8 months of age Pearl swam and retrieved a mallard and a wood duck in deep rapidly moving water in Sugar Creek. Most recently Pearl and I went to a hunting preserve to hunt pheasant and quail. I think she could really get into that kind of hunting if we can increase our number of trips to hunt those types of birds.Needless to say we are very happy and proud of Pearl. Thanks for the bloodlines and keep up the good work.  Kevin Stephenson

Here is a picture of Lincoln Hills Lily Grace. She is one of the pups out of Grace and Bravo that we kept. She's a little fatter than Gus, she gets pampered more. Plus, Gus is a little more active. Thought you might enjoy seeing a picture of her, I think she resembles Bravo.

We were blessed last evening with 10 healthy puppies. L Sadie had her puppies. 6 females, 4 males. What a guy Bravo is... with both litters we have 12 females and 6 males. Give him a hug and a treat from us.  Thank you so much for allowing Bravo to be the sire of B and L Sadie's puppies!  Karen & Steve of Just Labs.   Thought you would enjoy seeing L Sadie X Bravo puppies 3 wks old. I always use a yellow towel for B Sadie's puppies, red for L Sadie's. That way when I look at the pictures I know who's puppies they are. :)
